Demonstratives
Demonstratives are words used to "point" to specific people or things. They tell the listener how close or far an object is from the speaker.
Singular Reference
THIS (Near)
Used for one thing that is close to you.
"This is my pen."
THAT (Far)
Used for one thing that is away from you.
"That is your bag."
Plural Reference
THESE (Near)
Used for many things that are close to you.
"These are my books."
THOSE (Far)
Used for many things that are away from you.
"Those are chairs."
